Its long time now, I made any entry in my blog. This was in my mind long back. It is about some of my students whom I ( or we, all teachers) remember for some reason. Every year a batch of 50 students going out of this place and we remember all of them but someone have to give some pointers about them. Some students do not require this pointers. Here is some of the students whom I can recognize without any pointer (rather I can give some pointer about them!!). One thing this is NOT my fav list, so do not conclude anything from this:
I wish that i could write the names of GM, SR, JL, RY, RG etc..but some of them are current students and some names will create controversy. so better to avoid them (or write/speak about them in suitable time and place)
- Prashant Labhane : first IT student in Google directly from campus. But that is not for which i remember him. His approach, his carelessness and his intelligence are some things which i noted later. firstly i thought him as a backbencher (and he was that) having a careless and dumb boy in class, but later his "son" told me about his qualities and now i can say many things about him. I remember, every time i called him a "fraud", he just smile and wishper "sir, hum fraud nahin hain". Never found in his own hostel, made many new rules to follow (those rules are still in practice!!) He broken many presumptions of many teachers of IT (including me!!)
- Ashutosh Parkhi : His whole batch got atleast 15 9's (out of 40 students) in a semester and in that batch he topped the chart. After class when i used to go to bihari for tea and samosa, ashutosh with his old branch mate was found there, and i had to pay all three of us. (and i have no regrets for that). Still in contact his sweet smile and polite behavior still make us feel glad.
- Simanta: Batchmate of Ashutosh and very close to Prashant, talks in a typical Assamese accent, Simanta is one of the best student i have ever seen. Best in sense that He can play football, one of the best athlete of insti, good in studies, sincere, cool attitude, clean and tidy appearance (never seen in any casual approach) . He is one of the complete student in my small career. Once i asked ashutosh to guess who's my fav student? He replied "mein topper hun par apka fav nahin woh to simanta hain (jealous)"
- Saloni: Once Shashi (my lab staff) asked me who is the topper in first IDD batch? Listening her name, he said "sir woh toh humesha gumti raheti hain padhai kab karti hogi??" and for that reason her name is in this list. I always ask my students to enjoy life but not on the cost of studies. Both can be done, saloni is a perfect example. Her answer sheets were examples to show how to write answers.
- Deepak: He taught me two things one is professionalism and what to expect from others.
- Neeraj: OK he is not the branch changer i am talking about. In first year, i know him for some wrong reasons but later he changed my many thoughts. Good in sports, polite in nature, cooperative and a very good student. In his last year also he can say very politely and sincerely a "SORRY" for things he is not concern about.
I wish that i could write the names of GM, SR, JL, RY, RG etc..but some of them are current students and some names will create controversy. so better to avoid them (or write/speak about them in suitable time and place)

An unusual (but nice) title for the post intrigued me into reading this post...
It feels great to hear that department still remembers me. By the way, the semester in which approx 15 people hit the 9 was topped by Utkarsh (10/10), so you might give some credit to him too :)
Lala ke chole-samose aur chay to I cannot forget life long...
Happy blogging !!

yea yea... I always said - "I'm the best" & will always be :)
@ahutosh its not lala its BIHARI, and also that I was not preparing any merit list as such. I listed those students only those I remember for one or other reasons. I remember u not b'coz ur a topper, but bcoz of bihari's smaosa.
@Karan as u know kabhi-2 mein jhoot bhi bolata hun..
